GoByStreetcarPortland Streetcar: Take public transportation in style

The Portland Streetcar is a favorite among urbanites and visitors alike. The brightly colored new cars, manufactured by Skoda Company of the Czech Republic, ride emission free alongside regular street traffic. The light grey interiors are kept spotless, with lime green lined buttons guiding the way in and out at each stop. The Streetcar has fast become a mobile symbol representing the redevelopment happening throughout the northern sections of the city of Portland.

The Streetcar line connects Northwest Portland, Downtown, the Cultural District, Portland State University, Riverplace and the exciting Pearl District. This means that within minutes, a person can go from PSU in the southwest, to the Portland Art Museum, to the farmers market in The Pearl, and end up on Upper NW 23rd Avenue for a delicious taste of local cuisine.

With such easy ways to get from here to there, it is no wonder everyone wants to live in the city. The Streetcar further enhances a community that is more accommodating to the modern urban lifestyle than most cities. The future only looks brighter. The line is planned to further expand into the River District and North Macadam area, both areas high on the list for further redevelopment.
