The Empress
20 NW 16th Ave.
The Empress originally opened as a hotel in 1927 and was converted to condominiums in 2006. There are 72 units that are in the "pied-a-terre" tradition, efficient, charming and located in the center of it all. Located on the corner of Burnside & NW 16th. Units feature washer & dryers, kitchen cabinets are glass-fronted and the counters and baths renovated with period tile. All porcelain fixtures, sinks, bathtubs and toilets have been re-enameled. Rejuvenation Hardware period light fixtures and wall sconces are used throughout. And the original wood floors have been finished to a gleaming shine. The lobby at the Empress is step back into 1920's Deco. The restored original fireplace and original period paintings grace the walls, as well as the multi-toned paint detail, high quality custom manufactured period inspired carpet runners in the hallways, and additional Rejuvenation Hardware wall sconces create a unique style for city living.
